Stress Symptoms and Beneficial Natural Remedies for Stress

Stress is a feeling that’s created when we react to particular events. It’s the body’s method of rising to a confront and prepare to meet a tough state of affairs with focus, strength, stamina, and sharp alertness.

The events that provoke stress are called stressors, and they cover a whole range of situations — everything from outright physical danger to making a class presentation or taking a semester’s worth of your toughest subject.

Stress is simply a fact of nature — forces from the outer world affecting the personality. The individual responds to stress in ways that affect the individual as well as their environment.

Hence, all living creatures are in a constant interchange with their surroundings (the ecosystem), both physically and behaviorally.

Using Stress Management Hypnosis to Control Stress and Anxiety

If you are a part of the modern world, chances are you have to deal with quite a bit of stress management. Hypnosis can be a good way to approach stress management, as it deals with the subconscious mind.

It is often hard for us to manage our stress because no matter how hard we try to slow down, we might have subconscious programming urging us to keep up the speed. A lot of our stress is based on some sort of fear, conscious or unconscious. We are afraid of what will happen to us if we don’t keep approaching life as one long competition.

According to the American Institute of Stress, stress is the number one health problem in America. It is estimated that between 75 and 90 percent of visits to primary care doctors are because of stress related issues. Work related stress is the most common form of stress in adults.

It can be hard to define exactly what stress feels or looks like, because it can have very different symptoms in different people. Some of the typical symptoms of stress are anxiety, insomnia, stomach problems, pain, headaches, high blood pressure, relationship problems, shortness of breath, stiff neck and weight gain or weight loss.

Trying to manage the symptoms is often the most common response to stress, but this is not complete stress management. Hypnosis deals with the subconscious reasons for why you are stressed and helps you change them. Not only can hypnosis help you deal with stress and be more relaxed then and there, it can help you develop new coping mechanisms and keep you from getting as stressed in the future.

The first step in managing your stress is to realize it when you are feeling stressed. For many people stress is such a regular part of life that they don’t even realize it. Feeling pain or tension, or any of the other symptoms of stress becomes something they don’t even question, because it is so common.

The second step in managing stress is doing something about your stress. It is often not an option to completely avoid the situations that cause you stress, but you can choose to change how you approach them.

A stress management hypnosis solution can work on how you react to certain situations and help you deal with stress in a healthier way. Over time, hypnosis will re-program your mind and teach it new and healthier responses. These new ways to respond to a situation will be as natural to you as your old ones were, but they will be much better for your health.

Stress can cause serious health complications and it is important to learn how to avoid it. A lot of what we stress about is outside of our control, and it is vital to learn to not let these things get us worked up. A stress management hypnosis solution can help people get their stress under control. Nobody’s life is completely stress free, but you can learn to deal with stress better so it doesn’t take away from your quality of life anymore.

5 Reasons Why You Should Start Practicing Yoga And Meditation

The practice of yoga and meditation has become increasingly popular in the past few years, but I am sure that there are many people who are still asking themselves, “What’s in it for me?” So, if you have been wondering whether it would be worth your time to start practicing yoga and meditation, I would like to give you five good reasons why it would be a very worthwhile activity for you.

1. Yoga and meditation will improve your health

Yoga postures put gentle pressure on the internal organs of the body and help them to function properly. In particular the postures help your digestive system to work smoothly and thus avoid problems such as constipation, acidity and indigestion, which are common conditions that can lead to more serious problems later on. Meditation and deep relaxation can be just what you need to lower your blood pressure. Thus, yoga postures plus meditation is a great combination for maintaining and improving health.

2. Yoga and meditation will help you to overcome bad habits

What’s a “bad habit?” It’s something that you are doing continually, and something that you know is harming you but you can’t stop it. Are you smoking now? Maybe you thought it was good when you started, but you would now like to stop. The trouble is that it is not so easy to quit smoking or a similar habit once it has become established.

This is where yoga and meditation can help you out. The yoga postures help you to become more relaxed and mentally balanced. Meditation can help you to concentrate your mind and build up your will-power. Once you become internally balanced and have a stronger will power, it will become possible for you to break any habit, even one that you have been troubled by for many years.

3. Yoga and meditation will help you to lose weight

Obesity is one of the biggest health problems of the modern era. Our lives have become more sedentary and our food sources have changed over the last 100 years and this why many adults and even children are now overweight.

Although this is a life-style problem, it is something that can be dealt with. The surest way to lose weight is to get more exercise and to control what you are eating. This is of course, easier said than done. But yoga and meditation can help you out. There are some yoga postures that are helpful in weight loss programs. Similarly, the mental strength that you can get from both yoga postures and from meditation can help you to gain a better control over your diet and this can result in healthy and permanent weight loss.

4. Yoga and meditation will bring you inner peace

You may be earning a lot of money and you may have a lot of social prestige but is physical or social wealth the goal of your life? Whatever material or social wealth you have, if you are not contented, satisfied and at peace with yourself then you will not be a happy person.

The goal of meditation is to help you find the inner core of your being. Who are you? Is it the name and address on your identity card? If you start meditating you will find that deep within you is a pool of infinite love and peace. This is the real you. If you can reach this place, then you will find peace and contentment; it is guaranteed!

5. Yoga and meditation will make you a wiser person

Every one of us has made mistakes that we regret. There is nothing we can do about the past. We can’t go back in time and not make the mistakes. But what we can do is to build up our capacity to see what has permanent value and what is transitory. When we attain this state of discrimination, then we will not do actions that we will regret later on.

Meditation helps a person to go beyond the “chatter” of the mind and attain a state of wisdom that will always be of help. Wisdom does not mean stuffing your mind with “facts” but it does mean to have a mind that will choose a course of action that brings about the welfare of everyone.

I have a list with many more reasons why yoga and meditation are helpful, but I thought I would start off with these five reasons. So, if any one of these items are interesting for you, then why not see for yourself, and start practicing yoga and meditation?

Why Yoga Will Help You Manage Stress And Relax

Now please don’t turn your nose up at the mention of yoga.  It’s a great practice that helps you relax and get your mind and body working in unison.  And the good news is that you don’t have to be a licensed therapist or instructor to reap the health benefits of yoga.

Even the least flexible people can do some form of yoga.  What you need to do, though, is find an exercise with which you are comfortable.  In your own quest to achieve stress management, you will find that a lot of therapists and experts turn to yoga, deep breathing and flexing as recommended stress relief techniques.

You can practice yoga anywhere, including your own home.  Yoga is a practice, which originated in ancient India and was developed by Buddhists.  It is similar to meditation, because it gets you to focus on deep breathing as a means to get in touch with your inner being and thoughts.

When you practice yoga, you will begin to quiet your thoughts and focus on the actions of your body alone.  This helps lower blood pressure and aids in stress management.

Of course, it is important to make sure you are completely comfortable when you do yoga.  If your body feels stressed, and your muscles are tight, you may want to consider some stretching exercises as a warm-up.  Even if you’re not very educated when it comes to yoga, you may want to try flexing your arms above your head, while you clasp both hands together.

Yoga was developed over five millennia ago, and focuses on referring to the body as a temple.  What this does is teach you how to limber your body, and as a result lower your stress levels.

There are several different kinds of yoga.  These include the following:

 Hatha Yoga

Hatha yoga is most popular in America; it is practiced mostly by those in the western world and focuses on stretching.  Stretching exercises used in yoga may require you to sit with your legs folded on the floor as you push you weight to one side or the other.  At the same time, you may be asked to focus on deep breathing techniques, which will help relax your muscles.

Yoga, because it is used for self-improvement, focuses more on the mind than just the body.  This is why it’s so important to let go of any negative thoughts before you begin stretching.

According to experts, yoga is a great way to relax and reduce stress without wearing yourself out through strenuous exercise.

 Raja Yoga

Raja yoga requires that you respect both yourself and others around you.

As a stress management technique, yoga has a number of benefits.  For example, it helps stretch out your muscles.  As a result, you feel more relaxed, not to mention the fact that it improves your breathing.

After a yoga session, you will find that you breathe more clearly and evenly.  In addition to helping you relax, yoga helps improve your physical health.

A yoga instructor may ask you to place your feet together while sitting on the floor and slowly bring your head down toward your feet.  This requires a great deal of concentration and practice, but with time, your body relaxes.  And eventually, you may actually need to stretch to keep stress at bay.

When you practice yoga routinely, you will begin to see its long-term benefits and how it takes the tension out of life.

A few other exercises that will help you relax involve stretching your legs out in front of you and reaching for your toes.  Grab your toes, and allow your arms to hold your body upright, as you feel the muscles in your legs loosen.

The result is an overall feeling of relaxation.  Slowly, you will begin to forget about the stressors in your life, as you immerse yourself in positive thoughts.

It’s a known fact that relaxing is the first step to calming your mind, but did you also know that it can help you tone and improve muscle dexterity?

This means that in addition to helping lower your stress levels, yoga also builds stamina and improves blood flow.

Once you’ve mastered the art of yoga stretches, you will find that these stretches will help alleviate even the smallest stress in your life.

Take a few minutes each day to practice some deep breathing while you stretch.  Close your eyes, if you have to, and envision a peaceful and calming environment. Hone in on your muscles to figure out if there are any pressure points.

Massage the tense areas as you practice deep breathing.

Whatever you do, remember that stress can be overcome with yoga.  Dealing with stress can be difficult, but using yoga to alleviate that stress is easy!

Go to stress-relax.com for more music download, relaxation techniques and stress relief. True relaxation is difficult, but it is a skill well worth trying to learn. If your mind is not still, a lot of tension will remain in your body. It is important to learn to recognize when you are tense, as learning to relax may not only ease your asthma or allergy symptoms but also help you cope with an attack. Relaxing is not about flopping down in from of the television or putting your feet up enjoying a glass of wine, though both those things can be pleasurable. Real relaxation is achieving by a profound letting go of your muscles, while your mind is alert but passive. Most people do not realize how tense they become sitting in front of a computer or even watching a favorite television program. But when you are under pressure your muscles tense, your shoulders ache and you may experience heart palpitations and shallow breathing. There are plenty of simple things you can do to help you to relax, cutting down on stimulants such as tea, coffee and tobacco and switching to herbal teas, for example, scenting the air with calming essential oils, such as lavender, playing soothing relaxation tapes or music in the background. Your environment should induce feelings of contentment. Devoting a short time each day to unwinding is not only relaxing but also wonderfully invigorating. You will not realize how tense you are until you feel your muscles slowly unwind. Wear loose clothing and relax

5 Stress Management Tips for Effective Communication

Not enough time, boss pushing for work to be completed, children are loud, bills to pay, shopping to be done, housework to do, partner asking for your help… and to top it all off you’re suppose to be nice to people by communicating effectively with them? Yikes!

If you’re like me, you find it hard to communicate in stressful moments. Stress management techniques don’t always do the trick. In response to stress, you either become aggressive towards other people to release stress or you become submissive to hide the stress.

Showing aggression towards another person temporarily feels okay, but then reality kicks in as you feel even more stressed from having hurt the other person. When you are submissive and hide your stress, it internally eats at you as your emotions get suppressed, which then hurts your relationships.

When under stress, your communication style will change in response to the situation. You can go from a cool and collected person one moment, yet when a stressful situation impinges your tolerable threshold your calm style likely shifts to the aggressive or submissive behaviors.

What behavior you fall back on in stressful situations is the one you have been comfortable with in the past that will have “protected” you. It’s a natural human extinct built within us that we use to block out external factors and listen to internal ones. You probably now are able to realize that stress causes you to block external factors, such as other people’s feelings, as your interpersonal communication skills decline. You begin to only worry for your internal factors.

When someone has surpassed their tolerable stress level, telling them to get their “act together” or how ineffective their current communication is, does not work. It won’t work for you either. Communicating better in intense conflict is a matter of managing stress otherwise it is next to impossible to deal with conflict.

Stress motivates us to take action, but it too often works against us. I’ve come up with the best five ways and techniques to manage stress that you can use to deal with difficult conflict:

1) Stop the stress from rising in the first place. The best technique to deal with stress is to stop it from occurring altogether. You can incorporate other stress management techniques listed below into your stress plan before you get stressed in conflict.

2) Breathe. When your stressed levels rise, you breathe shallowly. This causes you to enter the fight or flight response that hurts your ability to effectively communicate. When your stress levels rise, take several deep, slow breathes and you will instantly reduce your stress levels.

3) Accept responsibility for how you feel. It is tempting and too easy to release your stress on other people. Do not treat people inappropriately. If you treat people in a way they don’t want to be treated, you build their stress levels, which they will be happy to put back on you.

When you accept responsibility, you live in truth. you eliminate blame. You do not become a victim of others. You take control of your feelings. Your new levels of responsibility builds your self-control and ability to manage stress.

If someone causes you stress, you need to address the person by explaining to them how you feel, why you feel that way, and what can be done to fix the problem. Do not stress out the person by focusing your reason for being stressed directly on the person, but focus on the problem. Be problem oriented and not person oriented.

4) Take time out. Walking away is a guaranteed stress management technique to refresh your mind. If you can afford to go on a Caribbean cruise, go for it! For others who cannot do that, go for a walk or workout at the gym. Being active releases hormones that counter stress. Being away from the stress also takes your mind off the problem and gives you clearer thoughts and feelings. Be sure to address the problem after your time out, however, otherwise you will only have temporarily avoided the real issue.

5) Be flexible. Stress is like the sunrise and sunset. It is inevitable. Therefore, the best way to deal with it is to change your behavior and communication. You need to be able to recognize when others are stressed by reading their verbal and nonverbal language then adjust yourself accordingly. Be flexible by going a bit out of your way for them to assist their temporary needs and wants. Don’t run around the world for them, but do be more aware and respondent of them. This can lead you to less stress.

Bonus Tip: Ask others about your responses in stressful moments. It is useful to ask others what you do when you enter that threshold level where you begin to block out external factors. Just ask them what you are like and how it makes them feel when you are stressed. You are to ask other people about this because assessing yourself when you experience heavy emotions is an inaccurate source of information.

Stress shouldn’t make you miserable. We were given the ability to be stressed to get things done otherwise we would sit on our lazy behinds all day. Learn these ways to manage your stress to effectively communicate, and you will better manage your relationship communication in stressful moments.
